Positives and Chellenges of the pilot lifestyle (survey)

The views are definitly a plus

Why are pilots pilots? There are numerous reasons why people choose their profession and I know that for us my husband loves to fly, with that choice comes a unique lifestyle that allows for travel and presents many opportunities as well as challenges  -so I asked the wives and girlfriends to list the positive and challenging things about this lifestyle. Here is a summary of their take on the pluses and minuses of the lifestyle and job, listed in order of most often mentioned to less often.
For the entire survey reults please go to Survey and the section has *NEW next to the title

  1. I just stumbled upon your blog because I'm doing some research on the civilian lifestyle of being a pilot- my husband is currently a helicopter pilot in Afghanistan. I found this very interesting and appreciate the time you put into it! It seems that getting into the field can be very difficult and not much different than his current civilian job which is dominated by union rules and budget constraints. Thank you!

  2. Hi Jamie
This is just the beginning there are several more sections so stay tuned, it takes a long time to get through all the data and put it into a concise format. If you have specific questions there are many groups out there and hundreds of women available for resources self-included so feel free to reach out to us via e-mail or blogs. I am glad to help.
